Corsica Coast Race Rules
In case of juridical problems the original French text will be the reference. They have been established by the ' Acula Marina' Association and have to be fully respected.They are intended for all the competitors / runners.The cancellation clause is also intended for the accompanying people.
Clause 1:
Acula Marina is an association founded on 1901 law,whose aim is the organization of a high endurance running trail, ( CCR ) which occurs every year during the All Saints' school holidays.
Clause 2: The Race
The CCR is a free pace trail of high endurance in 6 stages from 14 to 60 kms along the western coast of Corsica from Maccinaggio ( North of Bastia ) to Bonifacio ( the furthest place in the south ).
Clause 3: LOGISTICS
Logistics:
- 2 or 3 star hotels accommodation
- Medical care and massages
- Rescue Unit of Corté UISC5
- Warm buffet at the arrival of each stage with shower
- Food supplying during the trail with water, 'Tenforme' products, fresh fruit, caloric food
Clause 4: Admission and registration
You can register individually or by team from 3 up to 5 runners.
The teams can be mixed.
For the competitors:
- All nationalities
- You have to be of age
- A complete medical file ( see registration )
- All the payments have to be done before the limit date ( 1 September of this year )
- A deposit of 150 euros by cheque for the ' non respect of the environment ' clause
- For a team ( Each team has got one name )
For accompanying people
- All nationalities
- You have to be of age. ( the young aer under the responsability of their parents or legal tutors )

Clause 5 : The registration fees
They can start 11 months before the race and can be paid in several times. ( 4 maximum,
30% of the total amount deposit, see the price list ). They have to be paid before 1 September of this year.
The trailer, walker, accompanying people are on full board.
Clause 6: Safety
On the whole stage, safety is provided by :
- A medical team ( doctors, nurses,physiotherapists, chiropodists )
- A Rescue action unit : UISC5
- Signalmen and race stewards equipped with transceivers and present all along
the trail, on each stage.
Clause 7: Technical Organisation.
- Transfers - for competitors by coach to/from the start/finish line, where necessary
- Departure - time will be set by the race organisers. Competitors not present will be disqualified. The spare clothes bags will be collected by the organisers.
- the race – check points all along the way will also offer refreshments.Competitors must stop at each check point ( see disqualification)

- medical assistance and rest areas are provided for competitors
- a meal will be served to each competitor
- Transfer back to hotel in some cases.
Clause 8: Dropping out
- Dropping out doesn’t generate any extra financial cost for the competitor.
- The competitor must inform any member of the organisation and give back his “number” .He then becomes an accompanying guest.
- However back at the hotel and upon approval of the medical team he may choose to continue the race without qualifying.
Clause 9: Not qualifying
The competitor keeps his “number” which allows him to continue the race. He doesn’t qualify but gets all his timings on each stage of the race.
Clause 10: Timing
- The timing is electronic (bracelet worn by each competitor)
- For each stage of the race the timing of the competitors begins with the “start signal” and stops individually as each competitor crosses the “finish line“.
Clause 11: Classification
- an individual classification is established at the end of each stage
- a classification by team is established at the end of each stage (total timing of the 3 competitors)
- a classification by category is established at the end of each stage
- a final general classification individually and by team total timing of the 6 stages
- a final general classification by category is also established
- Results will be available every day at the meeting point in the hotel. Photos and results on line via internet as well.

Clause 13: Penalties
Times
- time limits are given for each stage of the race
- going beyond these limits will lead to penalties

- from 0 to 30 minutes :1/2 hour penalty
- 30mn to 60mn : 1hour penalty
- 60mn to 90mn : 1hour30mn penalty
- over 90mn : disqualification

Respect of the environment
Any failure to respect the environment (abandoning equipment or litter of any kind) will lead to disqualification and the loss of 150 euros deposit (Registration).
Lack of compulsory equipment
Every single missing item will lead to 2 hours penalty
Loss of “number”
- The deposit fee (plastic, littering of environment) will not be refunded
- 2 hours penalty

- Twice: disqualification
Drug abuse
Any drug abuse detected by the medical team will lead to disqualification.
Non respect of schedules or rules
- Once: 2 hours penalty
- Twice: disqualification
Clause 14: Identification of competitors “number”
2 “numbers” provided by the organisers when checking in upon arrival. They are worn over the tee shirt on the chest and on the back, they must always be clearly visible (article 12)

Clause 15 : Compulsory equipment
During administrative check in, the competitor must be in possession of the following articles:
- 1 mirror (for signal purposes)
- 1 whistle
- 1survival blanket
- 1penknife
- lighter or waterproof matches
- 1pocket torch and 2 spare batteries
- 10 safety pins
- Cell phone

Clause 16: Sponsoring of competitors
Logos and brand names are allowed except on the chest and on the back (number).
Clause 17: ADMINISTRATIVE CHECKING AND FORMALITIES
- His registration being done, the competitor will receive by mail the confirmation of his booking.
- Competitor : The administrative checking is done aboard the ship on the arrival, at the stand Corsica coast race. Identity papers are to be shown.
- The competitor will have to show his compulsory equipment as well as his medical file, this one being given to the doctor working for the organization.Once this technical checking is done, the competitor will be given a sport number, a roadbook, the identification of his luggage ( being the same as his sport number ) , and a chip .
- The accompanying person : On showing his identity papers and the receipt of his payments , he or she will be given a brochure about the choice of activities suggested in each harbour.
Clause 18: Cancellation fees
Requests for Cancellation must be sent by registered post to be accepted.
- More than 60 days before the departure : 60 euros per person to be paid
- From 59 days to 45 days : 25% of the total expenses
- From 44 days to 30 days : 30% of the total expenses
- From 29days to 15 days : 40% of the total expenses
- From 14 days to 8 days : 50% of the total expenses
- From 7 days to 3 days : 80% of the total expenses
- Less than 3 days : 90% of the total expenses
- No presentation : 100% of the total expenses
Competitors are advised to take out personal insurance covering cancellation fees.
Clause 19: Insurance
Competitors are covered by an insurance policy guarantying all urgent medical care expenses relevant to the race. The personal cancellation fees insurance, if subscribed will also cover the expenses of an earlier return journey for medical reasons.
Clause 20: Medical team
- Included of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists chiropodists
- Examines the medical file of each competitor
- Checks the electro cardiogram upon arrival in Corsica
- Its decision regarding the medical safety of each competitor during the race is without appeal.
Clause 21:
The organisation reserves the right to cancel or modify all or parts of the race for practical reason.
Clause 22: Picture copyright
Competitors abandon their rights on all the pictures or films taken during the race and give free access to their E mail address .The organisers and official partners are the exclusive owners of all the pictures of the race and may make free use of them.
Clause 23: Respect
This very demanding track-across untouched territory promises an exciting experience.
Corsica will offer you its autumn fragrance sounds and light. Friendship and awarm welcome will also contribute to this adventure.
